This also eats into already barely average cargo capacity, so it seems best to treat the Range Rover Sport as a five-seater. Inside the cabin, quality materials abound and there is even enough space for a third row of seating, though it's not suitable for adults over anything but the shortest of trips. The 48-mile all-electric range is nothing to sniff at, especially in the current socio-economic climate. It has loads of power but also excellent efficiency thanks to its plug-in hybrid powertrain, as well as competent handling and a standard four-wheel drivetrain that delivers excellent traction both on and off the road. There is definitely enough power on tap, and the steering is light and precise, meaning that spirited driving is possible. A good all-electric range and comfortable ride make it great around town, while multiple driving modes and rear-wheel steering allow it to go where no town SUV would dare. It's this versatile nature that makes the Ranger Rover Sport Hybrid so desirable. Meanwhile, the standard-fit air suspension delivers a ride that is buttery smooth around town while still being capable of tackling rougher terrain. A high driving position imbues those behind the wheel with a certain degree of confidence, and the liberal smattering driver-assistance features ensures peace of mind. Though slightly smaller than its flagship sibling, the Range Rover Sport is just as poised on the road.
